Duty Description

Serves as the Security Advisor to the Army Futures Command (AFC) Director of Intelligence and Security (DIOS). Serves as a liaison and provides operational support to the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) staff sections including the Chief Command Security Directorate (CCSD) and the Security Resiliency Activity (SRA) under the authority of the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, INSCOM.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a multi-disciplinary security officer with responsibilities in a wide range of security-related disciplines, including but not limited to Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Information Security (INFOSEC), and Research Technology Protection (RTP). Advises and informs the DIOS and staff on issues relating to security programs and threats to the AFC enterprise, to include all security alert notifications and details on the cases reported by subordinate commands. (30%)

Consolidates security requirements from subordinate commands of AFC; Cross Functional Teams (CFT), Futures and Concepts (F&C), Combat Development (CD) and Combat Systems (CS). Validates submitted requirements and prioritizes and coordinates solutions to security requirements by leveraging the security enterprise, including but not limited to CCSD or SRA. (30%)

Serves the SME for the Protection Fusion Center regarding security matters and coordinates within the Protection Fusion Center to provide holistic solutions to AFC protection gaps. (30%)

Provides direct support and leads implementation of Site Assistance Visits (SAVs) to Major Subordinate Command (MSC) units by INSCOM Security Operations Center (ISOC) integrated personnel at MSC levels. Maintains established SAV checklists to reflect changes and updates in policies pertaining to RTP, PERSEC and INFOSEC. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications Required

The incumbent must demonstrate a mastery level of knowledge and understanding of security standards and policies (PERSEC, INFOSEC and RTP) to include providing authoritative advice and recommendations to updates/changes in policy and procedures. Additionally the incumbent must be able to execute innovative solutions to institute more efficient and effective procedures which have a positive impact on RTP support to Commands.

Desired Requirements -

• Mastery-level technical knowledge of a wide range of security-related policy and standards for RTP, PERSEC and INFOSEC.

• Incumbent must have demonstrable experience in impacting and influencing security programs which involve large fiscal expenditures and major program decisions.

• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in order to conduct meetings and briefings, represent the organization in conferences and other forums, and prepare a variety of correspondence and documentation.

• Advanced understanding of policy in order to develop and update security command policy and procedure.
