Summary

This position is a GS-1801-13 with a full performance level of 13 and is part of Suitability Executive Agent Programs, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for working under the supervision of the Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist (Chief) of Suitability Executive Agent Programs, Oversight and will be principally responsible for inspecting and appraising Executive Branch agency vetting programs to fulfill the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)'s oversight responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct timely reviews of the operating practices of vetting programs of federal departments and agencies.

Perform complex research and analysis of agency program performance by evaluating various internal and external source documents to determine agency posture at time of review.

Present information (via written and oral reports) to tactfully and persuasively advise executive management.

Work collaboratively in a team with other Oversight Inspectors.

Qualifications

For the GS 13: Applicants must have one year specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) researching complicated and/or sensitive issues, analyzing data from internal and external source documents, and presenting findings in written reports and/or oral briefings.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
