DUTIES: As a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Directs and manages disposal programs (e.g., usable sales, recycling and scrap sales, electronics

recycling, qualified recycling program, etc..) for DLA Disposition Services and provides supervision

over subject matter experts and key personnel.

Analyzes, plans, and affects best utilization and management of Disposition Services business

operations and resources.

Oversees the disposition of property for disposal in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

regarding storage, movement, and sales with specific priority regarding hazardous material, environmental

issues, mutilation, and/or demilitarization requirements

Develops and submits annual operating plan/revenue target recommendations. Tracks and monitors cost reduction programs and profit projections.

Directs staff in innovative approaches to resolving problems and improving processes.

To qualify for a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist, your qualifications must include:

A. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:

Disposal of property through reutilization, transfer, donation, sales, abandonment and/or destruction or removal via service contract.

Coordinating contractor and outsourcing needs, agreements, and performance monitoring.

Experience in the business of surplus property disposition to include principles of developing sales

contracting solutions and programs, conducting and managing usable, recycling, and/or scrap sales,

demilitarization requirements, receiving, warehousing, reutilization, marketing, business financial

management, and human resource management.

B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
