The individual selected for this position will perform the following duties:

Provide guidance on implementing Information Security ensuring security controls are implemented as necessary.

Oversee continuous monitoring activities, ensuring accurate inventory at all times.

Ensure secure configurations are implemented.

Maintain expertise in any laws, regulations, and policies in the discipline of IT systems security and analyzes impact with regard to operational needs, cost, resources and consequences.

Provide managerial and technical direction for the design, development, testing, monitoring and oversight of enterprise systems, identity management systems, and directory services and their use.

Specialized Experience:

For the GG-14

, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13

in the Federal service. Specialized Experience

for this position includes working with stakeholders to gather information regarding systems security requirements and control implementation; working with organizations to ensure their compliance with IT Security requirements, i.e. the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002; applying knowledge of federal security requirements for sensitive systems; designing Active Directory (AD) Domains; designing and managing DNS, DHCP, and PKI in an enterprise environment; implementing processes or supporting operations to ensure compliance with security assessments and authorizations; conducting IT systems evaluations and system planning, client computing (Windows, Mac, virtual desktops) ;analyzing complex data or information to identify problematic situations; leading, supervising and managing experienced IT professionals in the performance of IT service delivery and support activities.

You must have, and your resume must detail how you meet the specialized experience AND information technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies described below.

3. Communication

Expresses technical information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing presentations; listens to others, recognizes potential miscommunication, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

4. Problem Solving

Identifies IT related problems using a variety of materials or sources; gathers and applies technical information to determine accuracy and relevance to moderately complex problems; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives; makes decisions or recommendations that influence IT policies or programs and applies new developments to previously unresolved problems.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Knowledge of NIST Security Publications.800-37, 800-52, and 800-53.

Knowledge of methodologies and best practices that are commonly used in the information systems security industry.

Knowledge of Federal legislation, regulation, policies, and practices related to information systems security.

Knowledge of advanced networking technologies and employment of identity management systems in large-scale converged network environments.

Knowledge of HR management practices, rules and regulations.
