Lead Quality Assurance Specialist
The Defense Contract Management Agency serves as the independent eyes and ears of the Department of Defense (DoD) and its partners, delivering actionable acquisition insight from the factory floor to the front line around the world. We are an independent combat support agency within the DoD. We are the Department's contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programs, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within cost and meet performance requirements.

As Team Leader for this QA team, assigns work with time frames for completion; coaches the team in selection of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques and provides instructions and explanation of assignments and job techniques
Leads the time in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees IAW established work flow and skill level.
Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet. Identifies differences between contract technical requirements and current contractor processes.
Assesses the contractor's purchased material/vendor QA controls. Reviews contractor's make or buy decisions for new contracts for new items. Identifies procured items/services which are complex, critical, or have bad quality histories.
Designs, plans and implements an effective risk management program to ensure that all threats to the successful delivery of the contract are addressed and mitigated in the Government?s best interests.
Performs risk assessments and analyses, relying on relevant customer, supplier performance, and Government data, and assigns risk ratings to quality systems and key processes.
Performs pre-award surveys and reports and government acceptance.
Occasional travel - Business travel is required 20% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-11. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience applying aircraft quality assurance principles, concepts and methodology in manufacturing and production to determine contractor compliance. Experience performing product inspection, using various test measurement techniques. Experience investigating reports of defective material, and coordinating disposition of nonconforming material. Providing corrective Action/recommendations on complex contractual problems.
