About the Position:

Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters Golf Tournament and the Cyber Center of Excellence. It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Ft Gordon's location offers close proximity to a metropolitan area and is an easy drive from Atlanta, Savannah the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains.

Responsibilities

As an Information Technology Specialist (Information Security/Network Services) you will be responsible for the following duties:

Provide oversight for all Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment operations to ensure the effective, efficient, and reliable functioning of US Army Training and Doctrine Command's premier distributed modeling, simulation, and collaboration enterprise.

Operate, maintain, and manage a Tier III CSSP function for the comprehensive Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment enterprise in accordance with US Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) policy mandate, to include Host Based Security System (HBSS), security analysis, and security auditing.

Perform Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment infrastructure development, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to support the greater Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment community of practice.

Provide sound technical advice and expertise to US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Capability Development Integration Directorate, Cyber Battle Lab leadership, and Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment stakeholders concerning all aspects of the holistic BLCSE capability.

Must be able to obtain and retain the following DOD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II baseline and computing environment certifications within 6 months of assignment to the position.

Must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Temporary duty (TDY) business travel is required approximately 10 percent of the time.

This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) developing information technology activities designed to protect computer systems; (2) Evaluating computer systems compliance with information technology security requirements; (3) Integrating network systems consistent with planned network infrastructures, and (4) Providing network services that support business requirements. In addition, my IT-related experience demonstrates each of the four competencies as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - I am thorough when providing oversight of information technology and conscientious about attending to detail in the application of IT information security policies and procedures; (2) Customer Service: I work with clients and customers (e.g., senior management officials, information technology personnel, the general public) to assess technology needs of information security, providing technical information or assistance, resolving IT information security, or satisfying expectations; knowledgeable about innovations in information security and services; and committed to providing quality products and services; (3) Oral Communication: I communicate, explain or defend highly technical information (i.e., ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; delivering technically authoritative and persuasive oral presentations; listening to others, attending to nonverbal cues, and responding appropriately; and (4)Problem Solving: I identify IT information security problems; determining accuracy and relevance of information; and using expert judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
