The selectee for this position will serve as a WATERFRONT TECHNICIAN in the Operations Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.99% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

You will assist production and personnel with issues associated with facilities and equipment that can affect waterfront activities;
You will communicate with organizations, vendors and pay grades to justify, defend, negotiate, or settle matters involving significant issues;
You will relate policy requirements, review of proposed work plans and exchange of information pertinent to ship safety matters;
You will coordinate relocation of waterfront project teams and support codes in support of Shipyard waterfront activities; and
You will generate inspections, transfer of custody, inventory control, and data collection in support of shipyard waterfront activities.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Examples of qualifying experience include: determining waterfront equipment, facility or service deficiencies to identify and resolve difficult issues; analyzing waterfront facility and equipment requirements against customer needs; preparing budget plans for waterfront operation and activities; providing reports on installation or upgrade of waterfront equipment; and communicating issues affecting waterfront activities.

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
