This position serves as a Human Resources Specialist providing a variety of human resources services, including management advisory functions in the areas of position classification, compensation, recruitment and placement, and organizational design.

As a Human Resources Specialist you will:

Apply a comprehensive knowledge of HR management to advise on a full range of HR functions.

Provide technical services relating to position management and classification, recruitment and placement, compensation, and other HR activities.

Serve as an expert authority for classification activities to include review and classify position descriptions (PDs); write reports of findings; conduct desk audits; and prepare evaluations.

Provide managers, employees, and job applicants with information and interpretations of the agency's recruitment and placement procedures, practices, policies and guidelines.

Provide management advisory services pertaining to complex sensitive and controversial compensation issues.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience performing management advisory functions in the areas of internal Merit Promotion and external Delegated Examining recruitment and staffing procedures, and technical guidance on implementing and administering position classification and position management.
