As a Motor Vehicle Operator at the WG-5703-7 some of your typical work assignments may include:

Provides safe and efficient transportation for students to and from school

Operates a passenger bus with an approximate gross vehicle weight up to 30,000 pounds and with passenger capacity ranging from 44 to 72 students

Conducts maintenance and safety checks on the school bus prior to beginning all routes and report problems to the designated government representative

Responsible for the general cleaning of bus to include cleaning inside of bus daily and washing exterior of the bus once a month

Assists in the loading and unloading of children with special needs and their equipment, as well as assisting these students in getting to and from their classrooms

Works with students in order to establish and maintain safety on the bus at all times

Reports all disciplinary action to the school principal

Records bus route and schedule, including time information, on the trip ticket; fills out accident reports, when necessary

This position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and be able to obtain a Government operator's permit. Must have a safe driving record.

Drivers work half of the daily hours in the morning and return to work the remaining hours in the afternoon.

Must pass a physical examination.
