As a Procurement Analyst, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsible to be the catalyst for an architect of continuous, integrated process improvement and innovation that provides the warfighter with the right goods and services when and where they need them at an affordable and reasonable cost.
Serves as a senior specialist and expert advisor on DoD acquisition policies and procedures, major systems acquisition policies, procedures, and acquisition strategies, procurement on international contracting policies and programs, and in assigned areas of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS).
Develops new and refines existing procurement policies including: developing and testing new techniques and procedures, evaluating and developing proposed innovations including proposed legislative initiatives, participating in formulation of government-wide policies, interpreting regulations, and assuring consistent policy application.
Assesses and provides strategic direction for resolution of mission critical problems, policies, and procedures; converts strategic goals into programs or policies.
ABOUT THE POSITION: This is an Acquisition & Sustainment (A&S) Workforce Position in the Contracting Career Field. The incumbent will be required to become certified at Level III in the applicable career field within 24 months, unless a Position Requirements Waiver is approved to extend the 24 months. AT&L position requirements will be used in the evaluation criteria.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. In addition to meeting the Basic DoD 1102 Requirement above, to qualify for the GS-15 grade level, specialized experience must be at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Monitoring special procurement system-related programs and testing efforts relative to changes in procurement processes
Developing procurement system functional requirements
Recommending and implementing policy changes to the procurement/acquisition process
Communicating with high level officials on procurement policies and laws
