This National Guard position is for a Materials Handler Position Description Number D1954and is part of the Maryland Air National Guard.

The primary purpose of this position is to carry out the complete warehousing operations relating to mobility assets to include providing management control, oversight, coordination, and implementation of the base Individual Protective Equipment, Airborne/Non-airborne Readiness Spares Packages, War Reserve Material, and Weapons programs and operations. This position facilitates the primary mission of managing base mobility assets to

include the accountability, reporting, receiving, distributing, tracking and maintenance of critical mobility related material. Provides day-to-day management and oversight of assigned personnel and monitors daily mobility assets

operations and activities. Determines and establishes requirements, forecasts shelf-life expiration, and develops an operating budget for individual protective equipment to ensure critical wartime assets are available to support deployments. Coordinates with a variety of functional elements, personnel, and off-base contacts to accomplish assigned mission. Identifies mobility bag and customer individual protective requirements. Receives, stores and issues, Type A, B C, and D mobility bag assets. Controls shelf life assets utilizing Army Electronic Products Support (AEPS) and Joint Acquisition CBNR Knowledge System (J.A.C.K.S.), processes and approves customer requests for mobility bag requirements, requisitions mobility bag assets, performs research, verifies data etc. Responsible for the storage of weapons identified for extended storage. Maintains physical security of weapons storage vault IAW all prescribed controlled area procedures.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc
