The Seventh District comprises a considerable part of the nation’s manufacturing base – especially capital goods and consumer durables as well as production agriculture and food processing.      Internship Program Details: The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Summer Intern Program is a paid internship that provides undergraduate, graduate and PHD students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at the Federal Reserve Bank. Through project oriented hands on assignments and professional development activities, interns receive a solid overview of the Fed while contributing to their designated Bank department.  The Summer Intern Program begins in June and continues for 12 consecutive weeks. Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week and assigned to one department for the summer.  As a part of the Summer Internship program, interns are expected to work on a group project during the course of the program.            Application Process: October 2020 and onward – applications Mid October 2020 and onward - Interviews January – offers accepted June 1, 2020 or June 8, 2020 – Start dates Job Summary: The Public Affairs mission is twofold. First, provide high-quality information management, external communications, and Web and design services to effectively reach key audiences and Bank stakeholders, especially those aligned with our strategic objectives. And second, produce a variety of public programs that foster financial education, economic literacy, and a better public understanding of the role and responsibility of the Federal Reserve System and its research, policy and operations. Job Responsibilities: The intern will work on several public facing programs/outreach initiatives in the areas of community development, economic policymaking, history, and education, using a variety of communication skills. Anticipated day-to-day duties include, but are not limited, to the following: Work with on-site social media manager to create and implement campaigns and content for social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube Review selected social media platforms and provide suggestions for enhancements or new content. Assist in development and creation of monthly metrics reports. Analyze current and previous metrics reports to suggest potential future topics of social media campaigns or posts. Assist the social media manager with management of the speaker’s bureau. Assist media relations team with drafting press releases to announce upcoming conferences and events held at the Bank. Research and create customized target market/media contact lists for various publications produced by Bank staff. Analyze media reach and impact using dashboard tools; research industry best practices on internal reporting of media outcomes. •Contribute to other Public Affairs projects as needed and approved by Supervisor.
