Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is a recognized leader in providing world-class logistics support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) System across the Department of Defense. Maintain balanced workloads to achieve the most effective work operations.

Conduct inspections to identify areas for improvement for the continuous improvement program.

Explain work requirements and operation instructions to subordinates to set deadlines and work sequences.

Determine resources and materials necessary to accomplish long range work schedules.

Judge the impact of the repairs to ensure that the equipment and all its integral devices are functioning properly.

Monitor the status of work to meet requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

Frequently lifts and handles equipment up to about 40 pounds. Work is performed sitting at bench or standing at test sites and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. The incumbent may be required to lift and move heavy items with the assistance of other workers or limiting equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normally works inside well lighted, heated and ventilated shop. Works at on-site locations as required on temporary duty (TDY) assignments. Work outside is usually performed in good weather conditions but may be required to work in adverse conditions on priority items. Exposed to possibility of serious burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy and hot components, and to microwave radiation. Subject to cuts, bruises, and scrapes from handling tools and equipment. Required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the position.
