The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. By

joining Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, you will be a part of the team

that is the leading provider of global distribution support to America's

military. Whether you work at the DLA Distribution Headquarters in New

Cumberland, Pa. or at one of our 24 distribution centers around the globe, your

work will ensure that DLA Distribution offers the right solution, on time,

every time through a broad range of services to include storage, distribution,

customized kits, specialized packaging and world-wide transportation

support. DLA Distribution makes a

difference every day by providing effective, efficient and best value support

to our customers which include the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy and

Air Force as well as other government agencies.

DUTIES: As an Administrative Assistant (Office

Automation), you will be responsible for the following duties:

Performs personnel liaison functions to include

preparation of requests for personnel actions related to awards, recruitment,

retirement and other events affecting members of the workforce for the assigned

area.

Maintains tickler files of pending actions and

performs follow ups to ensure timely completion.

Performs time and attendance and maintains

files of related documentation.

Updates personnel records and tracking files

related to overtime offered/worked, and evaluates data to report overtime

trends and costs.

Receives visitors and telephone calls.

Maintains appointment calendars and other

scheduling tools related to visits, training, or other significant events.

Picks up, drops off, sorts and delivers mail

and internal correspondence.

Qualifications

To

qualify for an Administrative Assistant (Office Automation), your resume and

supporting documentation must support:

A.

Specialized

Experience: One year of specialized

experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and

abilities (KSAs) or competencies to successfully perform the duties of the

position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants

must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level

or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or

private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including

time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive

appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by

the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes:

Prepare

reports/summaries/personnel actions for review by supervisor.

Compose correspondence

on administrative support or clerical functions of the office by using facts

given by the supervisor and available references.

Maintain suspense

records on all correspondence and action documents and follow up to ensure a

timely reply action.

Perform a variety of general clerical

tasks such as: Time and Attendance, schedule appointments, arrange time,

participants, and location of meetings.

B. Education: As a general rule, education is not

creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education

may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly

related to the work of the position.
