About the Position:

This position is with the 88th Regional Support Command (RSC), Physical Security Branch, Directorate of Emergency Services located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The Directorate of Emergency Services plans, organizes, directs and evaluates force protection and security programs while providing expert staff and technical advice to the 88th Readiness Division Commanding General, Headquarters Staff, and supported facilities and units throughout a 19-state region.

Responsibilities

Expert on physical protection of personnel, facilities, and assets against criminal, terrorist, or other hostile activities.

Research, recommend, and procure security equipment.

Review and approve physical security inspection compliance reports and provide technical and administrative support to physical security inspectors.

Resolve conflicts between physical security and organizational mission requirements.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES MEMBERSHIP IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).

This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban, commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.

The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, evaluating and/or maintaining systems, policies, devices, and/or procedures used for physical security of personnel, facilities, and assets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Criminal Justice, Sociology, Business, or other field related to either resource protection.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
