Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, provides support for the development and implementation of the electronic statewide Individualized Education Program (IEP). Duties include, but are not limited to, working collaboratively with other Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) divisions on the data requirements and federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) compliance requirements for the statewide IEP; identifying staff development training needs that relate to the electronic IEP and designing, developing, conducting, and evaluating staff development during implementation; actively communicating with user districts face-to-face and online; coordinating external communications efforts (i.e., publications, articles, brochures, manuals, and meetings) to convey a positive identity for the IEP application; overseeing internal communications relative to the IEP application to build employee awareness and support of activities related to the electronic IEP; providing ongoing technical assistance to local school districts on the planning and usage of the IEP application to improve performance of students with disabilities; and developing, implementing, and evaluating special projects, as assigned. A Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Educator’s Certificate. A Master’s degree in a special education field or educational leadership and five (5) years of experience in a professional education capacity in special education. Note

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Experience in using Georgia Online IEP
• Experience in planning, designing, and/or implementing training
• Experience in a leadership or administrative role in special education at the state or local school level
• A strong familiarity with special education policies at the local, state and federal level
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation
Pay grade N – Annual salary range $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum). *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, work experience and available funding
