This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1231P01and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4-SASMO/1221-200).

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-12, you will serve as the principal advisor to the Director of Logistics (DCSLOG/G4) on all STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs; supervise personnel assigned to the CSSAMO SASMO unit; provide oversight on all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of the Combat Service Support (CSS) STAMIS and other automated logistics applications; manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation; identify funding requirements to support CSSAMO SASMO operations, justify and submit budget requirements for state operating budget, and execute funds received; plan, organize, and direct the activities of the assigned technicians; develop goals and objectives that integrate support functions and overall unit program objectives; research, interpret, analyze and apply information technology guidelines, policies and objectives; establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of the unit's support mission; plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules; establish metrics and analysis systems; accept, amend, or reject work; perform self-inspection and present detailed and comprehensive report with any corrective action taken; exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities; develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards; appraise subordinate workers performance; initiate action to correct performance or conduct problems; identify employee developmental needs and provide or arrange for training; approve master leave schedule assuring adequate coverage; discharge security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material; troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical problems identified in trouble tickets; initial setup of specified STAMIS computers; coordinate with help desk personnel on resolution methods; develop/implement programs to ensure software/interim change packages (SCP/ICP) are applied in proper order; assist functional users in automated CSS systems management and operation; serve as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and the users of the serviced database(s); administer the day-to-day database operation and maintenance of the serviced database(s); perform tests to ensure the serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data; evaluate, determine, and initiate corrective action to recover or restore data and return the database(s) to operational status; resolve issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistic STAMIS administrative and systemic work operations; implement, establish and execute operational plans and policies for the logistics STAMIS system; analyze requirements, establish programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and replacement of systems; identify maintenance requirements and coordinate/initiate corrective action; establish a State CSS automation hardware float program and oversee the management of the program ensuring accountability of exchanges; establish, develop or plan the coordination and administering of training programs for new and established CSS automated systems; conduct training as required; represent the DCSLOG/G4 on DCSIM Configuration Control Boards (CCB); represent the DCSLOG/G4 for implementing or improving logistical operations through STAMIS systems and Automated Logistical Programs; perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
