Day Job The Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York implements monetary policy on behalf of the Federal Reserve System and acts as fiscal agent for the U.S. Treasury Department. As part of these duties, the Market Operations Monitoring and Analysis Function (MOMA) within the Markets Group executes transactions in the open market and conducts detailed analysis of financial market developments in support of the monetary policy and financial stability decision-making process. The Cross-Market Monitoring (CMM) staff leads MOMA\u2019s monitoring of developments across global financial markets and the production of a range of market briefings delivered to policymakers and staff throughout the Federal Reserve System (FRS) and at the Treasury Department. The CMM staff is currently looking to fill a senior associate position responsible for overseeing execution of the Desk\u2019s output of high-frequency market monitoring products (CMM Products). This individual will also play a leadership role in driving innovation in the Desk\u2019s market-monitoring products and processes. This position could be filled in New York or Chicago, though candidates should expect to spend 1-2 weeks per FOMC cycle in the alternate location. Principal duties and responsibilities: Oversee the production of CMM Products, including daily, weekly, and intermeeting updates, with emphasis on ensuring the quality and consistency of these products Serve as a thought leader in market monitoring discussions at planning meetings and briefings, working closely with staff and managers across MOMA Coach and provide feedback to rotational staff on their production of CMM Products, serving as a point of contact for customers throughout FRS and the Treasury Lead the staff\u2019s drafting of the Financial Market Developments section of the Desk FOMC Briefing Contribute meaningfully to strategies that enhance stakeholder engagement\u2014including through leveraging the new MarketSource platform\u2014and advance the staff\u2019s market-participant outreach efforts. This could include participation in the\u00a0Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets\u00a0(IACFM) and dealer\/buyside engagement with the head of the Markets Group Contribute to efforts related to staff training as needed Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in economics, finance or a related field 5-7 years\u2019 experience analyzing financial market developments and international policy issues Deep familiarity with\u00a0high-frequency market monitoring; completion of CMM training program or significant prior experience briefing policymaker audience highly preferred Demonstrated ability to effectively lead projects and\/or processes, while balancing competing priorities on tight timeframes Strong analytical and coordination skills, with proven ability to work collaboratively across staffs Strong written and oral communication skills that will enable the candidate to convey their views to policymakers and senior management in a clear and concise manner This position requires access to Federal Open Market Committee Data, which is limited to \Protected Individuals\ as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law.
