About the Position:
The U.S. Army Communications Electronics, Research Development and Engineering Center, Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (CERDEC, I2WD) are dedicated to providing the U.S. Army effective intelligence and information warfare tools, guaranteeing our warfighters the technological edge in any future operation. We identify, develop, educate, tailor and insert emerging information technologies, which are transitioned into selected operational systems. Thus, guaranteeing America's Warfighter the superior integrated systems they need to enable and ensure Information Dominance.
This position is covered under an alternative personnel system known as the DoD Science & Technology Demonstration Project. The Demonstration replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. This position incorporates former GS grades 05 step 1 to GS-08 step 10 and may be filled at any of those equivalent grades within the pay band.
NOTE: This is a term appointment NTE 5 YEARS and it may be extended up to total of 6 years. Contingent to specific conditions there may be an opportunity to be noncompetitively converted to a career-conditional or career appointment.

PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Work that involves working with office automation software; reports preparation, and travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04/DK-01).
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
