This position is located at APG FMWR, Business Operations Division, Bowling Center.
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the commuting area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. NOTE: Local commuting area is defined as a radius of 50 miles; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: you live outside of this radius and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis or you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses (must be able to be present for work within 2 weeks of selection), you are a military spouse in the process of relocating to this installation and are within 30 days of moving, or you are an involuntarily separated military member.

Maintains, adjusts, and repairs a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies.
Typical equipment services includes automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, telescore and telefoul units, ball drilling machines, pin finders, lane maintenance machines, supervisor for timeliness.
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, but referring to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams using test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages.
Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning, what parts and mechanisms can be reworked or should be replaced with new parts, and the types of adjustments and alignments required.
Makes such repairs and adjustments as re-timing cams and gears; measuring and regulating the sweep of rakes; replacing broken or worn pins, rods, brushes, bolts, belts, tension springs; filing contact points; and cleaning and lubricating parts.

Ability to work irregular work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed by management
1. Must be skilled in use of standard electrical test equipment, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters continuity testers, and test lamps.
2. Skilled in performing such repairs as soldering loose connections, burnishing contact points, splicing, insulating exposed wires, replacing defective printed circuit boards.
3. Applies a fundamental knowledge of electrical principles and the operating characteristics of electrical and electronic components.
4. Individual must be able to frequent lift and carry parts and assemblies weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally may push or pull larger assemblies weighing up to 100 pounds.
5. Work requires frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing and working in awkward positions.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
