Summary
Air Traffic Operations (AJT) controls more than 5 million square miles of airspace in the U.S. and more than 24 million square miles over oceans. AJT is responsible for Airport Traffic Control Towers (Federal and Contract), Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities, Air Route Traffic Control Centers, and Combined Center Radar Approach Control facilities to guide aircraft through their various phases of flight.

Responsibilities
If you are selected for this position, you serve as an Administrative Officer to the Director and Deputy Director of Air Traffic Operations Western Service Area, AJT-W . You will be responsible for planning, developing, monitoring, and executing actions required to manage the office's administrative functions which may include all or several of the following administrative functions: fiscal, travel, management information systems, office management, property management, management analysis and procurement. You will work under detailed instructions provide by manger, project/program manager, and/or team lead. Work will be reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality. Work activities directly impact the administrative and business activities of the Terminal and En Route service areas.
You will review draft disciplinary actions prior to the director's signature; gather and compile documents the director will use to hear employee responses to proposed disciplinary actions; gather and compile employee performance documents to prep the Director for performance discussions; gather and compile documents to be used by staff members in EEO meditations and hearings, as well as Merit System Protection Board (MSPB) hearings; receive and review all air traffic controller training failure documents for the Director to make employment decisions. You will access multiple systems that house employee personally identifiable information (PII) for the AJT Eastern Service Area workforce; attend and participate in all staff and leadership meetings; you will have responsibility for all files/records/documents forwarded to the director/deputy director for their review/approval.
You will manage travel schedules and the E2 Travel system, maintain and review the calendars on a daily basis; resolve conflicts with the schedule as necessary; ensure attendance at appropriate meetings of those acting on the Director's behalf. Financial management duties will include spend plan preparation and oversight, tracking of expenditures and obligations, and advising on burn rates and necessary adjustments. You will provide logistical support for the Director's Video Teleconferencing (VTC) meetings and schedule conference rooms. In addition, you will manage time and attendance for the Director's direct reports, purchase office supplies and other items as required. You will review administrative documents for grammar, format, and punctuation prior to Director's signature. You will distribute meeting/telecon notes for all management team events and provide back-up administrative assistance to other Service Area Directors and executive staffs. You will coordinate with the Executive Advisor on developing an agenda for management team meetings and track action items from meetings. You will maintain executive confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. You will welcome guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answer and/or direct inquiries.
