Department of Public Health - Administrative Services Division - Procurement Unit is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Procurement Aid. This position reports to a Procurement Assistant II, and performs the clerical functions for the Procurement Unit.
Essential Job Functions
This position is part of a team who works with various Procurement Unit staff preparing documents and maintain clerical records and controls, and is responsible for tasks such as: Processing orders for various supplies and services using automated systems;
Researching vendor catalogues and contacting personnel to clarify details regarding requests, ascertaining costs, placing orders, and resolving minor issues as they arise;
Assist Procurement supervisors with a variety of procurement functions;
Maintain records and prepare reports as necessary.
Requirements
MUST BE A PERMANENT LOS ANGELES COUNTY EMPLOYEE WHO HOLDS A PAYROLL TITLE OF PROCUREMENT AID AND HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THEIR PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
Desirable Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work independently, to follow through on instructions, and meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
The ability to respond to emergent situations and juggle multiple tasks at once.
Independent, reliable and resourceful person who is a self-starter.
Work assignments are completed and verified for accuracy and correctness before submittal.
Ability to seek immediate guidance for instructions and clarification.
