Responsibilities

Serve as the Human Resources Officer (HRO) for the G-1.

Manage military and civilian human resources operations throughout the command.

Monitor and evaluate Human Resources programs taking action to address problems and deficiencies.

Provide administrative and budgetary oversight for human resources soldier support programs.

Provide oversight of all military human resources functions within the command.

Provide advice and guidance to subordinate headquarters and units on complex, unusual and/or sensitive military HR matters.

Coordinate Army Civilian Human Resources matters for the command.

Exercise supervision over the daily activities of the full-time Command G-1 staff, both military and civilian employees.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - The business travel requirement is 10%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves applying knowledge of personnel regulations or policies to manage or direct human resources programs; providing guidance or training to others on military personnel matters; and recommending solutions to identified human resources personnel problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
