About the Position:
This position is located with the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP), Ammunition Operations Directorate in McAlester, Oklahoma. MCAAP was originally commissioned as the Naval Ammunition Depot McAlester on May 20, 1943 and began its first production in September 1943. In October 1977, the naval facility was transferred to the Army under the Single Manager for Conventional Ammunition Act. MCAAP is a government-owned/government-operated facility. Our operating hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We are closed on federal holidays. The mission of MCAAP is to produce and renovate quality conventional missile ammunition and ammunition-related components, perform engineering and product assurance in support of production, and receive, store, ship, demilitarize and dispose of conventional and missile ammunition and related items.

This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program and requires you to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program, or a memorandum of understanding as well as submit to pre-employment and random drug testing.
This position requires pre-employment and annual physicals.
This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision. Working Leader installing and inspecting complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. I have planned workload, identified resources, such as, personnel, equipment and supplies, present briefings of safety and policy to personnel, control inventory, train personnel, evaluate the performance of personnel, and oversee process development, such as work methods. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, or bend for extended period of time. Required to exert heavy physical effort in handling objects weighing up to 80 lbs. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing 50-80 lbs.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside on concrete floors. Subject to falls when climbing and walking on slippery and inclined surfaces of turrets, cuts and abrasions may frequently occur when using hand and power tools in confined places. The operation of hydraulic systems under extremely high pressure requires proper knowledge of and constant awareness of the danger involved to avoid serious injury. There is considerable exposure to oil, grease and cleaning fluids. A high level of noise exists in the area of hydraulic test fixtures and apparatus.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
