Position Description
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Chief Operating Officer and back-up support to the Executive Director and Chief Medical Examiner. Prepares department memorandums, minutes, correspondence, reports and presentations. Prepares travel arrangements and special meetings. Coordinates and prepares special reports and statistics. Answers telephones and routes calls and messages. Handles ad hoc projects and/or requests as assigned. Works as a team player Performs duties and responsibilities with a high level of confidentiality, judgment, personal responsibility and dependability.
Requirements
Must pass the  HRRM Clerical Skills Test
with a minimum score of 95% accuracy
and a  typing speed of 55 w.p.m. 
with  95% accuracy.

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance);
and
Two (2) years of full-time paid administrative experience supporting a senior level executive.
OR
Associates degree in Business or a related field (Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance);
and
Four (4) years of full-time paid administrative experience supporting a senior level executive.
OR
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent;
and
Completion of Executive Assistant course work from a recognized school of business or college;
and
Six (6) years of full-time paid administrative experience supporting a senior level executive.
Additional Requirements:
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Must have basic knowledge in the operation of office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, printers, etc. Must have a professional demeanor in dealings with both internal and external callers. Ability to multi-task at general clerical duties in an office environment characterized by telephone contacts with a diverse set of callers and steady flow of paperwork and data entry. Ability to work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, and Chief Medical Examiner, as well as employees in a variety of positions throughout the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Institute of Forensic Sciences. Ability to prioritize tasks in an environment characterized by rapid change and complete work within the established deadline. Must be willing and capable of assigning tasks to others and following up to assure those tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. A valid driver's license (Texas upon hire).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (i.e. files, books, equipment, small devices, and supplies). Ability to stand or be seated for long periods of time. Stooping, reaching, and bending may be periodically required.

Professional secretary or executive assistant certification. Previous executive assistant experience.

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. / Flexible Monday - Friday Infrequent evening/weekend work may be required
SALARY:
Commensurate With Education and Experience Based on 26 Pay Periods
