Responsibilities

Serves a Fire Program Liaison between the Bureau of Reclamation Pacific Northwest Region and other federal, state, and local fire programs.

Is responsible for designing, executing, and administering the wildland fire management program for Reclamation's Pacific Northwest Region. This includes providing knowledge in budgeting, fire suppression strategies, fire behavior, fuel models, fire weather, Incident Command System (ICS), fire management plans, and firefighting equipment to safely lead and execute the regional fire management program and to coordinate with agencies fighting fire on Reclamation land.

Develops and maintains Interagency Agreements (IAs) with other federal, state, and local entities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the wildland fire management program.

Interprets laws, regulations, policies, and standards and if applicable develops Regional guidelines, standards and specifications for the wildland fire program.

Completes land management efforts including developing GIS maps, supporting Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) flights and data processing, and executing realty transactions such as land use permits.
