Responsibilities

· Resource Protection and Crime Prevention Program Manager. Provides program management and acts as the focal point for the local Resource Protection (RP) and Crime Prevention (CP) programs.

· Develops and maintains required security plans, guidance, and directives on security of non-priority resources, resource protection, crime prevention, police services, investigations, and traffic.

· Provides program management and acts as the security forces focal point for all security forces police services provided to the installation.

· Assist in Security and Force Protection Program and Operations Activities. Coordinates and works with the force protection/physical security manager to ensure own program areas are administered and in concert with installation security section program.

· Provides Assistance to the Chief of Security Forces and Chief, Security Forces Operations Branch and Performs Other Auxiliary and Security Forces Functions, as required.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

3. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily resource protection / crime prevention and police services duties; the incumbent may be assigned some other security forces and organizational duties, as directed.

4. May be required to fly in military or commercial aircraft to perform temporary / permanent duty assignments.

5. Complies with security forces general orders. Takes charge of post, performs duties, protects property and personnel for which responsible until properly relieved.

6. Incumbent must possess a valid vehicle operator's license.

7. Must be qualified in the use of required firearms and be able to be armed in the performance of duties.

8. Receives specialized training in accordance with directives and requirements. Must maintain proficiency in duties and successfully pass an annual or random duty position evaluations.

9. Must wear prescribed uniform while performing duties.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-07) or equivalent. Experience includes knowledge of a broad range of security forces, force protection/antiterrorism, resource protection, crime prevention, police services, law enforcement, investigations, and traffic program directives, policies, instructions, specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices to independently make decisions and recommendations and manage program areas.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. 2. Knowledge of AFRC overall and AFRC Security Forces missions, functions, and structure at the unit level to ensure implementation and oversight of program plans and processes.

3. Ability to conduct surveys, assessments, and projects and efficiently evaluate results for the management and completion of programs.

4. Ability to read and understand written and oral directives and guidance, and skill in oral and written communication methods and techniques at various levels and avenues.

5. Ability to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, singularly and together, and familiar with Air Force, AFRC, and local administrative requirements.

6. Skill in handling, using, and qualifying with various types of small arms weapons, and able to be armed for duties.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
