Currently, positions are located in Fairfax Residency in various locations, which includes: Annandale, Chantilly, and Reston
. Positions will repair and maintain State roadways and their surrounding right of ways. Duties include operation of dump trucks, loaders, rollers, backhoes, tractors and other equipment and hand and power tools. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and tools. Performs manual labor. Practices safety at all times. Works as part of a team as well as independently. These positions are essential for emergencies and require work outside normal hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures. Experience in equipment operation and performing preventative maintenance. Knowledge of Safety policies, procedures, and programs. Skill in the operation and maintenance of hand-held and power tools. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to read and to follow oral and written instructions. Valid Driver's License. Commercial Driver's License (
) required within 6 months of hire with appropriate endorsements.
High school graduate/
or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the job. Experience in highway maintenance and/or construction.
Class A license and/or permit highly preferred.

records will be verified prior to employment. Pre-employment physical with drug screen will be required. All employees are required to work in emergency situations, to include weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours; assignments may vary based on business needs.
