Summary

You will serve as the Deputy Department Head of the EOD DEPARTMENT of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVSURFWARCEN IHEODTECHDIV).

Responsibilities

You will monitor, coordinate, evaluate and supervise the work of a multi-disciplinary scientific/engineering/technical staff.

You will ensure maximum use of department personnel resources consistent with mission requirements.

You will perform the full range of second level or higher supervisory responsibilities including performance evaluation, approving leave, assigning work, and executing disciplinary actions and ensuring EEO compliance throughout the department.

You will oversees the acquisition and analyses of intelligence on explosive ordnance and the subsequent development, production and distribution of EOD information essential to the safety of joint service combatants.

You will interface with key managers and research officials in government, industry, and academic institutions in both the U.S. and foreign countries.

You will reconcile program needs with anticipated demands and implement program compromises and changes in objectives.

You will reports to the EOD Department Head on the status/health of ongoing programs and proposed strategies for enhancing effectiveness of the organization.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Positions that are supervisory/ managerial require that first time supervisors/managers complete a one-year trial/probationary period if not previously completed in a competitive or other excepted service position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) in the Federal service leading operations related to joint service explosive ordnance disposal information management procedures or technology development.

Examples of qualifying experience include: Leading a diverse workforce through subordinate supervisors or as a supervisor, or management in technical, administrative and operational activities; facilitating, documenting, reporting and improving program operations, work processes and methods related to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) information management procedures and technology development; or providing subject matter expertise of JSEOD (Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Information management procedures, technology development and life-cycle support.
