Responsibilities
90% - Monitors operations of a club or assigned area, normally during absence of the club manager and/or assistant manager, and normally at night or on weekends. Assist with employee relations and supervision. Responsible for the issue, receipt, and control of cash. Makes unscheduled cash counts. Provides change to cashiers; securing store rooms and similar areas; securing the Club at closing time; overseeing food production and service; and general overall supervision of the dining room and bar. Prepares reports of significant occurrences during the shift. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer issues. Investigates and resolves problems and conflicts, and makes a report to the club manager. Inspects and secures facility at the end of the shift. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies, equipment and property in accordance with directives and regulations. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Assist in preparing the monthly schedule of events and in the promotion and advertising of events and activities. Assist with food, liquor, supplies and asset inventories. Incumbent trains and motivates employees and deals with all aspects of employee relations on the shift. Recommends food and beverage promotions as required. Incumbent coordinates all phases of food and beverage service on assigned shift. In the event the Manager is absent, incumbent will maintain proper operation of the Port O' Call per all manuals, policies and guidelines governing Port O' Call.
5% - Performs physical tasks to include loading and unloading of trucks, custodial tasks, stocking of shelves and maintaining storerooms and other various types of spaces within the club. Perform the tasks needed to support catering operation when requested.
5% - Circulates among patrons to assure satisfactory service. Assures all contracted functions are followed per customers’ requirements.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Qualifications
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must possess a working knowledge of club, restaurant or bar operations, including some degree of experience in administration and a strong knowledge of proper customer service standards, sanitation requirements gained through actual experience or formal training in the operation of hotels/restaurants or catering facilities. Experience in waiting tables, bartending or conference service support.
Must be alert for continuing improvements, be tactful, possess considerable initiative, be willing and capable of assuming complete responsibility. Must be dependable, courteous and friendly and be able to effectively and harmoniously work with employees, supervisors and patrons.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
