As a Administrative Specialist, you will:
- Provide coordination, advice and assistance in a variety of administrative areas, to RESTORE Council Staff.
- Establish and maintain a formal system of procedures and administrative controls.
- Act as a point of contact for GCERC in order to provide instruction, coordinate activities, gather or provide information, and resolve problems.
- Review incoming correspondence, publications, regulations and directives, routing them to the appropriate party and reviews outgoing correspondence, regulations, and directives to ensure finished product conforms to GCERC policy and regulation.

Specialized experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Participating in or assisting with projects or assignments that impact the operations of an organization/agency; AND
- Researching, assembling and summarizing data from a variety of sources to prepare reports and other correspondence; AND
- Serving as a point of contact to internal and external stakeholders coordinating various administrative activities.
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D, if related.
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The RESTORE Act established a Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (the Council), which is comprised of governors from the five affected Gulf States’, the Secretaries from the U.S. Departments of the Interior, Commerce, Agriculture, and Homeland Security as well as the Secretary of the Army and the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Gulf States recommended and President Obama appointed the Secretary of Commerce as the Council’s Chair.
