NAF Human Resources Assistants are one of the most integral parts of the employment process with Fort Riley NAF positions. They are trained to process a full range of personnel actions and provide applicants with the information necessary to start their Federal Employment Careers. The Fort Riley Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) is located just inside the Henry (Marshall Airfield) Gate off I-70. The NAF Division is a full range Personnel office providing; Recruitment and Staffing, Benefits enrollment, and all other personnel actions for Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation activities on post.

NF-02 Developmental Duties: Assists higher graded staff in processing a variety of routine human resource tasks requiring knowledge of Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) civilian personnel rules and regulations.
Assists in the preparation and processing of documents related to NAF employment.
Initiates pre-employment screening processes and clears candidates for employment.
Facilitates onboarding orientations, establishes and maintains files, folders and correspondence.
Performs a wide variety of technical support in a generalist capacity to administer the NAF Human Resources Program.
NF-03 Duties: Coordinates with management officials to recruit for position vacancies.
Receives and processes a wide variety of routine and complex personnel actions requiring an in-depth knowledge of public sector laws, regulations and operating procedures applicable to Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) civilian human resources.
Enters data into and ensures the maintenance of human resource information systems. Establishes and maintains official folders, files and reports. Answers general human resources questions and inquiries.
Provide support to the CPAC mission, participating in mass hiring or selection events, as well as job fairs to inform the surrounding public about job opportunities at Fort Riley.
The duties of an HR Assistant include virtually every aspect of the Human Resources field. All eligible applicants must be able to communicate orally and deal effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, as well as be able to perform various administrative and clerical tasks in an office setting.
This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level of NF-0203-03. Assignments are selected to ensure the development of skills and abilities needed to perform the target level duties. A prescribed agenda of formal/informal classroom and on-the-job training and self-development are completed as set forth in an Individual Development Plan. The employee works under closer than normal supervision wherein work is closely reviewed and detailed guidance provided as needed. As employee progresses, supervisory control diminishes until full performance level is accomplished. At management's request, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted no earlier than 6 months of satisfactory performance provided the target position description is classifiable to its present title, pay plan, series, and pay level at the time the incumbent has completed the required training, meets all regulatory and qualification requirements and is performing the full scope of the major duties under the proper level of supervision.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position to on and off post locations.

3. This is a CHRA NAF Career Path I position. Incumbent must complete the requirements for CHRA NAF Career Path I within eighteen (18) months of entrance into CHRA Career Path I.
Possess six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, which demonstrates the ability to accomplish various human resources tasks and utilize human resource information systems.
Possess six (6) months of work experience in a human resources profession demonstrating the capability to perform a variety of recruitment support, employee relations support or personnel action processing functions. Possess prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to work with a variety of human resources information systems.
This HR experience must also be clearly reflected in resume to be found eligible.
Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred Criteria will be referred to management first. Highly Preferred Criteria is defined as having prior experience in a NAF Human Resources Office.
