Summary
The Office of Housing
provides vital public services through its nationally administered programs. It oversees the , the largest mortgage insurer in the world, and regulates important parts of the housing industry. The Office of Housing also helps ensure consumers can access housing counseling and provides affordable rental housing through its Multifamily housing program. The Office of Housing is committed to helping all Americans obtain safe, decent affordable housing.

The Office of Multifamily Housing
is responsible for the overall management, development, direction and administration of HUD's Multifamily Housing Programs. HUD's Multifamily programs provide mortgage insurance to HUD-approved lenders to facilitate the construction, substantial rehabilitation, purchase and refinancing of multifamily housing projects. MFH is widely responsible for , , and of assisted properties, and field operations. As part of the National Housing Act of 1934, Congress created the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) which later became a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Housing in 1965.
Responsibilities
As a Supervisory Account Executive, you will:
Develop broad policy objectives of the Division to effectuate legislative, regulatory, and administrative goals, policies, and procedures with respect to the assigned programs.
Devise criteria, instructions, notices and guidelines to achieve the goals and mission of the Division. Work in a collaborative effort with the Division Director and others to establish and implement training curricula for use by Headquarters and field staff with respect to the program and operational jurisdiction of the Division.
Serve as the first-line supervisor regarding the programs for which the Division is responsible. Find and institute ways to eliminate or reduce significant barriers to production, promote team building or improve business practices.
Represent the Office of Asset Management & Portfolio Oversight when necessary, in dealing with key officials and other elements of HUD, other government agencies, private industry representatives and staff for members of Congress with respect to the insurance programs.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:
To be qualified for this position at the GS-14
level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13
level, Specialized experience is defined as:
- Leading or managing a team of employees and monitoring their progress towards achieving project goals and objectives; AND
- Coordinating and supporting a variety of multifamily housing asset management functions such as FHA mortgage insurance, Section 202 and 811 Capital Advance programs, Project-Based Section 8, preservation of affordable housing, rental subsidy administration, grant administration, risk management, and compliance; AND
- Consulting with and providing technical assistance on a variety of federally assisted housing and/or affordable housing issues to audiences such as program officials, residents, citizen groups, and Federal, state, and/or local government officials.
Time-in-Grade:
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.

- Federal Housing Authority debentures or certificate of claim;
- Financial interest in a project, including any single family dwelling or unit subsidized by HUD, or which is subject to a note or mortgage insured by HUD;
- Section 8 subsidies to or on behalf of a tenant of property you, your spouse, or a dependent child owns.

The following are exceptions to the Section 8 prohibition:
- The employee, or the employee's spouse or minor child acquires, without specific intent as through inheritance, a property in which a tenant receiving such a subsidy already resides;
- The tenant receiving such a subsidy lived in the rental property before the employee worked for the Department;
- The tenant receiving such a subsidy is a parent, child, grandchild, or sibling of the employee;
- The employee's, or the employee's spouse or minor child's, rental property has an incumbent tenant who has not previously received such a subsidy and becomes the beneficiary thereof; or
- The location of the rental property is in a Presidentially declared emergency or natural disaster area and the employee receives prior written approval from an agency designee.
