Nor does any job order accepted or recruited upon bythe JS constitute a contractual job offer to which the ETA or a State Agencyis in any way a party.Non FLSA (Fair Labor Standard Act) Exempt - No overtime providedHousing may be providedJOB INFORMATION:Anticipated period of employment:06/10/2018 to 11/10/2018Anticipated hours of work per week: 48Monday - Saturday = 8 hours per dayMust have 20 days of experience with farm/irrigation/harvest/livestock workJOB DUTIES:Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to theproduction/harvesting of pumpkins, watermelons, specialty squash,decorative corn, sunflowers, wheat, alfalfa, beans, millet andcattle. The majority of the work activities during the overall contractperiod, however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/cropproductioGeneral Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: maintain,drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/forklift equipment totill soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; make minormechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; remove undesirable andexcess growth from crops and farm grounds; paint farm structures;replace/repair fencing; perform general clean up of farm areas; drive,load/unloadIrrigation duties will include the following:Pivots: maintenance/repair circle sprinkler system.Flood Irrigation: shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cuttrenches in high areas to direct water flow; siphon water from ditch tochannel water into designated areas; shovel or hoe soil to clearditches/furrows and build embankments to appropriately channel water.Other Irrigation Duties: lubricate, adjust, repair and replace partssuch as sprinkler heads and drive chains using hand tools.Duties related to the production of Livestock will include the following:feed/water livestock; herd livestock; clean/disinfect livestockcorrals/stalls/sheds; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck.Duties related to the Cutting/Sorting of Pumpkins/Watermelons will includethe following:Will apply techniques as instructed by the employer to cut/sort/labelpumpkins/watermelons by: discard diseased/rotting/inferior product andforeign matter; loading/unloading harvest transport vehicle; reportmalfunctions; general cleanup.Duties related to the Packing of Produce will include the following:Will apply techniques as instructed by the employer to: sort produceaccording to grade, color and size; discard diseased/rotting/inferiorproduct and foreign matter; clean up around conveyors and worksite; placeproduce in containers or on designated conveyors; bag seed wheat.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Exposure to extreme temperaturesLifting requirement of 100 pounds*** APPLY AT YOUR LOCAL WORKFORCE CENTER **** **
