Summary Clinical Responsibilities (20% of time) Serves as physician providing direct clinical care for Veterans in his\/her specialty Unique competencies required include integrity, data analysis, commitment, excellent interpersonal skills, a comprehensive knowledge of VA and its policies and procedures, and commitment to help build and lead the new healthcare center. Duties Administrative\/Supervisory Functions (80% of time) Ensures that high quality patient care is delivered in a timely manner for all Veterans Formulates and recommends plans for a comprehensive program of medical care; develops the requirements of staff, services, equipment, and supplies needed to carry forward such an integrated program, utilizing necessary reviews and controls; and (3) appraises the effectiveness of the various medical programs in meeting the needs of patient care Has direct administrative and professional supervision of staff in Primary Care and Compensation and Pension Program. Along with the HCC Administrator and Chief Nurse, has the overall responsibility of all operations of the Kernersville HCC. Has programmatic oversight and shared responsibility for all Kernersville HCC clinical staff (excluding nursing staff) along with their respective service line chiefs. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, supervision of staff, program management and administrative responsibilities that are complex in scope, including day to day operations at the HCC; oversight of the Fund Control Points; seeking of additional resources with the use of data-driven criteria for support; monitors and reports to Facility and VISN leadership Performance Measures including Access, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction; resolves patient concerns and prepares controlled correspondence; serves on Medical Center and VISN committees, workgroups, and taskforces; works with Facility Planner in the space planning, construction\/renovation, and move in phases of the HCC, including space allocation; strategically plans to meet all upcoming Veteran healthcare needs along with HCC Leadership and Salisbury Leadership Management of all the Human Resource aspects of Primary Care and Compensation and Pension Program at the Kernersville HCC In conjunction with the Research and Academic Affairs Service, coordinates, enhances and builds educational initiatives including supervision of residents\/students\/ fellows and other students. Promotes the development of health care professionals through counseling, mentoring, teaching and encouraging self-assessment. Collaborate with service chiefs in implementing and maintaining clinical and administrative programs and services for Veterans.
