POSITION SUMMARY: The Enterprise Architect defines an integrated holistic IT architecture to support the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas business lines and IT Strategy. Sets the IT architectural principles, standards, best practices, guidelines and vision for the Enterprise; ensuring the enforcement and integrity of the architecture, to deliver value for the business in the most efficient and effective manner. Defines how the future needs of the business will be met in a sustainable, agile and adaptable manner. Provides the blueprint, roadmaps and rules to manage business technology growth and services. Be able to lead efforts independently with minimal supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates a robust, extensible enterprise architecture for moderate to high complexity systems. Partners with project teams\/solution architect(s) to ensure application architecture align with enterprise architecture goals and objectives. Collaborates with other architects and leads the efforts on: Architecture for distributed applications Advanced data analytics projects Information Security and Threat modelling Interprets and transforms business strategy and process into tactical plans, maps technology to application solutions, and ensures the technical solutions are in alignment with the business and IT strategies. Produces design artifacts that express and justify the architecture solution. Partners with multiple IT groups to establish and keep relevant multi-year business architecture and related technical roadmaps and architectures that facilitate the achievement of business strategies, objectives, and goals, including delivery of innovative and transformational solutions. Provides forward thinking, strategic input to business as they refine and refresh multi-year strategic plans. Maintains an up-to-date perspective of information technology industry including design and architectural patterns, best practices, industry trends and technology trends. Actively conducts research to ensure the business remains innovative and relevant in the technology space. Designs and implements standards, tools and methodologies to ensure the overall IT Portfolio\u2019s architecture is maintained in a coherent manner. Establishes practical design approaches and standards through product research, evaluation, and proof-of-concept activities and ensures product quality through design and code review. Represents Dallas ITS on System-wide workgroups and communities and contributes to System standards, tools and methodologies. Chairs or contributes to the Architecture Design Review Board (ADRB) Provides technical guidance to Software\/Data\/InfoSec Architects assigned to technology studies and implementation projects by serving as a sounding board and mentor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline. 10-12 years\u2019 experience in serving as an architect role within a medium to large company or consulting organization. Practical experience in defining and guide data strategy and creating roadmaps. Experience creating project solution blueprints, technical specifications, and high level design documents. In-depth experience with designing highly scalable cross-platform database solutions with comprehensive understanding of both Operational and Analytical Data Architecture, Security, Performance, Scalability, and Reliability for enterprise systems. In-depth experience with multidimensional data modeling such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models in Data Warehouse environment. In-depth experience with big data applications, data staging and preparation, and data analytics platforms and technologies. In-depth experience with big data languages - Python\/Spark\/Scala\/R\/Kafka in Hadoop\/Cloudera environment. Experience with Java, J2EE, .NET, JSON, SOAP\/Restful APIs, web services, XML, Windows\/Linux environments, Services Oriented Architecture, Online Transaction Processing, batch processing\/scheduling, or enterprise service buses. Experience with security concepts and standards, such as AuthZ, AuthN, OAuth, SAML, PCI DSS, PII, encryption, tokenization, and frameworks (NIST, ISO, COBIT). Practical experience developing strategy for enterprise considerations such as deployment models, delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), information protection, application access channels\/endpoints. Knowledge of evaluating and leveraging public, hybrid, and private cloud deployment models for enterprise applications. Experience integrating commercial products with custom applications and\/or infrastructure components a plus. Has researched and evaluated emerging technologies and identified opportunities for use in business processes to meet business objectives or to gain competitive advantage. Practical experience of project lifecycle methodologies with an in-depth technical understanding of software development in areas of legacy and web development technologies. Must have a collaborative style and be able to sell technical ideas and approaches to others, but at the same time be able to take a strong position when warranted. Must have good judgment to know which approach is appropriate for a given set of circumstances. Strong analysis capability; such as interviewing and collecting data from various teams across the organization. Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills; is comfortable in presenting to executive management with in-depth experience in communicating and forming strategic partnerships with senior business leaders. Demonstrates excellent critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Demonstrates high level of integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and strong sense of confidence to deliver on responsibilities. Proven track record of motivating staff and dealing with diverse interpersonal relationships, and skilled at balancing strategic versus tactical objectives.
