Plans and directs collections and operations activities for an intelligence program with major geographical or worldwide.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

GS-15:

Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Evaluating highly sensitive law enforcement and criminal investigative policies and operational issues on a national and international level.

Developing national and special intelligence programs

Managing the development of intelligence policies and strategies

Training:

You will be required to attend the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Basic Intelligence Training (ICEBIT)course, which is located at the HSI Intelligence Training Center in Rosslyn, Virginia. The five-week course is designed for ICE Intelligence Research Specialists (IRS) and Intelligence Operations Specialists (IOS), providing them with the basic skills necessary to be effective and successful IRSs/IOSs while supporting DHS and ICE missions. Specific intelligence training must be completed according to the standards of the HSI Office of Intelligence. Failure to do so will be grounds for mandatory removal from the position. Such failure will result in either reassignment to a different position, demotion, or separation by appropriate procedures.

NOTE:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This is a supervisory position. Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
