Summary
This position is for a Supervisor IT Specialist (PLYCPLN), Position Description Number D1863000 located in the Plans and Resources section of a Base Communications unit at 224 CSQ SQ-Brunswick, GA.
This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership.
Area of Consideration:
Open to current Georgia Air National Guard 165th AW - GA Air National Guard in the rank of Enlisted SMSGT (P)-CMSGT or Officer 2LT-MAJ.

Responsibilities
As a Supervisor IT Specialist (PLYCPLN), GS-2210-12, you will:
Analyze existing and planned IT applications, both hardware and software, to determine current and future potential for enhancements.
Develop project plans to meet those needs by identifying problem areas and considering a variety of possible solutions and alternatives.
Assess policy needs and reviews, revises, and develops policies to govern IT activities and presents recommendations to higher-level management.
Plan and develop methods, procedures, policies, and techniques concerning telecommunication systems.
Perform work involved in developing, refining, and complying with telecommunications systems planning and policy direction including short- and/or long-range planning.
Conduct periodic analysis of projects and their funding for consistency with overall IT and communications architecture and infrastructure and how they contribute to meeting business requirements.
Prepare reports encompassing long and short range planning strategy recommendations, and presents briefings covering recommendations for acquisition or changes in business practices through enhanced IT use.
Perform other duties as assigned.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

General Experience
: Must possess experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
Specialized Experience
: Candidate must have 36 months specialized experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
