Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday

This position is located at the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Team (GCERT), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), located in Madison, Mississippi.

Duties involve developing administrative processes and procedures to facilitate more efficient and effective operations; preparing, reviewing and monitoring personnel, financial, manpower, travel, training, awards and other items.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as administrative assistant to the Director and to coordinate the clerical and technical support for all staff.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Merit promotion applicants having held a GS position in the past 52 weeks must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements. One year at the GS-07 is required to be eligible for the GS-08. Time-in-Grade requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants MUST submit an SF-50 that illustrates time-in-grade and reflects title, series, and grade. No Award SF-50 will be accepted. Time-in-grade requirements also apply to VEOA applicants having held a GS position in the past year.

All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 Eastern Time on 01/19/2018

Minimum Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year (52 Weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing duties such as: Performing a variety of administrative and management services such as travel, logistics and procurement;

Utilizing webTA to transmit Time and Attendance (T&A) data for processing;

Preparing reports, letters, and bulletins for management;

Processing travel authorization requests and travel vouchers for reimbursement using expense management software such as Concur;

Responding to general telephone and written inquiries for information; and

Disseminating and tracking information as it relates to new initiatives or special projects.
