This position is located at the APG FMWR Business Operations Division, Recreational Lodging

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the commuting area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. NOTE: Local commuting area is defined as a radius of 50 miles; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: you live outside of this radius and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis or you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses (must be able to be present for work within 2 weeks of selection), you are a military spouse in the process of relocating to this installation and are within 30 days of moving, or you are an involuntarily separated military member.

There will be one cut-off dates for this vacancy announcement beginning on February 16th at 3:00PM. Responsibilities

Works alone or in a group performing a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and repair of recreational grounds, buildings and structures, and appurtenant fixtures.

Duties require the use of trade practices associated with carpentry and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations.

Assignments include the performance of work for: Carpentry, Painting, Electrical/Pplumbing, Laborer and Vehicle Operation.

The worker selects tools, decides on methods and techniques to use and carries out assignments that are spot-checked during progress.

Must be able to obtain and maintain valid driver's license prior to appointment and for duration of employment

Ability to work irregular work hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed by management

Ability to perform duties both indoors and outdoors

May lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance

Qualifications

1. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.

2. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.

3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
