You qualify for the GS-13 level if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent performing duties such as:\u00a0

Directing complex aviation law enforcement operations with interregional/national/international dimensions;Serving as an expert on coordinating and overseeing aviation enforcement efforts;Developing policies and procedures for aviation enforcement activities;Overseeing complex aviation law enforcement planning efforts; andPreparing responses to complex aviation law enforcement incidents\u00a0
Time-in-Grade:\u00a0\u00a0Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

Background Investigation:\u00a0 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires\u00a0all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country and integrity. \u00a0During the screening and/or background investigation process, you will be asked questions regarding any felony criminal convictions or current felony charges, the use of illegal drugs (i.e., marijuana, cocaine, heroin, LSD, methamphetamines, ecstasy) and the use of non-prescribed controlled substances including any experimentation, possession, sale, receipt, manufacture, cultivation, production, transfer, shipping, trafficking, or distribution of controlled substances.\u00a0 A polygraph examination may be required.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

Bargaining Unit:\u00a0 This position is not covered under the bargaining unit.
Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP): This position is covered by LEAP.
Drug Testing: This job has been identified as \testing designated\ under our Drug-Free Workplace Program.\u00a0You will be subject to random drug testing.
Firearms Requirement:\u00a0 You will be required to carry a firearm while performing duties of this position. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid state automobile driver's license at the time of selection.

Training:\u00a0
You must have successfully completed relevant Federal law
enforcement training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)
prior to entry into this position. Entry-level training for Air and Marine
Agents, Border Patrol Agents, and Criminal Investigators meets this
requirement.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Human Resources\u00a0will review your resume and supporting documentation to ensure you meet the\u00a0minimum qualification requirements.\u00a0 If you meet the minimum qualifications, your knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)\u00a0will be\u00a0rated between 70 and 100\u00a0based on your responses to the\u00a0online assessment. If you are eligible for placement under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP), you must earn a score of 85 or above to be considered well qualified.
The KSAs for this position are:
Knowledge of instructional techniques, including lecture,
discussion, demonstration, examination, laboratory work, case studies and
practical exercises

Knowledge and skill in the use of proper law enforcement and
interdiction techniques involving new and innovative strategies, tactics and
methods in order to plan and develop new enforcement interdiction training
courses.

Knowledge of testing and evaluation procedures, including
constructing test questions and administering and evaluating examinations.
