Summary
This position is located in NCUA's Asset Management and Assistance Center (AMAC) in Austin, Texas. As the Director, Division of Asset Recovery (DAR), you will have both supervisory and operational responsibilities for the Division and report directly to the Deputy to the President, AMAC. You will be responsible for managing all of AMAC's acquired real estate, loans and other assets.

Responsibilities
As a Director Division of Asset Recovery, you will:
Manage assets assigned to AMAC to maximize total overall returns and minimize holding periods and servicing expenses.
Lead AMAC's efforts in providing consulting to other NCUA offices on commercial lending, real estate lending, loan valuations, appropriate underwriting policies, and problem loan workout strategies.
Develop innovative sales strategies and supervise the disposition of assets via a variety of methods, including direct and brokered sales, auctions, and bulk sales.
Supervise the valuations of loan and asset portfolios and develop models using relevant industry trends, qualitative factors, and statistical data to value large complex loan portfolios.
Manage staff of professional and clerical personnel.
Manage the Division of Asset Recovery (DAR) by planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating activities of the division.

Suitable adjudication of background/security investigation is required.

Qualifications
To qualify at the grade CU-15, you must have at least one full year (52) weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-14 level in the federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).

This experience must include one of following activities:
1) Performing loan valuations of complex or troubled financial institutions; or
2) Reviewing the quality of loan valuations of complex or troubled financial institutions; or
3) Overseeing the resolution of loan portfolios in a complex or troubled institution; or
4) Carrying out collection, sales, and legal actions on a portfolio of complex financial institution loans.

Additionally, you must have experience in one of the following activities:
1) Leading teams, reviewing work or providing feedback on other financial institution examiners concerning examining procedures; or
2) Managing or directing the servicing of a portfolio of complex financial institution loans; or
3) Serving as the agent-in-charge of the liquidation of complex credit unions.

SALARY:
Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 23.32% for the Austin, Texas geographical area.
