Job Summary:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a graduate level or Ph.D. student with the major of Finance or Economics for a summer internship for the RADAR - Retail Supervisory Modeling Team (SMT) Implementation team.

This position is a 32-hour per week position for the 10-week summer internship program. 

This position will work on the research project that develops and tests opposing hypotheses about the potential effects of the U.S. bank stress tests on consumers.  It analyzes how stress tests affect the credit allocation to consumers in several sectors (mortgages, home equity, auto loans, credit cards, and other consumer credit) and then tests how stress tests ultimately affect the real economy by looking at proxies of employment, bankruptcy and GDP in local U.S. markets. 

To contribute to the research project, the intern will primarily work with the Consumer Credit Panel (CCP) and CRISM datasets in RADAR but also use some public datasets like the bank Call Reports or Bureau of Labor Statistics, he/she will download data and construct the dataset for a research project in SAS as well as run various regressions in STATA and prepare tables for the research project. Strong SAS and/or STATA software knowledge and basic econometrics knowledge.

Some research experience would be a plus but not compulsory.
