Essential Job Functions
Position allocated to this class reports to the Director of Environmental Services, and performs a variety of duties including but not limited to:
Determines the needs of a community for public health education programs related to cannabis activities. Plan, develop, and implement public health education programs. Develops flyers and handouts for public outreach regarding cannabis information. Develops informational documents related to cannabis to post on Environmental Health website.
Assist community-based organizations, medical providers, schools, public health personnel, and other County departments to recognize and provide information related to cannabis.
Recruit community stakeholders to help plan, promote, implement, and evaluate health education programs.
Provide expertise in health education methods related to cannabis activities.
Evaluate health education programs objectives and impact of the target population's knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, practices, and behaviors by utilizing appropriate data collection methods.
Evaluate findings and community input for future program planning and policy development for cannabis activities.
Evaluate the literacy levels of target population and the appropriateness of resource materials.
A valid California Class C Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential job functions.
Requirements
Must currently be a permanent Los Angeles County employee who holds the payroll item of Health Educator.

knowledge of Public Health License/Permit procedures and computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs).
