This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), Vicksburg, MS.

The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is one of the most diverse engineering and scientific research organizations in the world. Provide high quality, responsive engineering and environmental research and development support to the Army and Nation. As part of the US Army Corps of Engineers team, ERDC develops innovative sectioned and technology solutions to support warfighting, infrastructure, environmental, water resources, and disaster operations. It consists of seven laboratories at four geographical sites in Vicksburg, MS; Champaign, IL; Hanover, NH; and Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities

Provide program management for the daily operation of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Library's integrated library systems and research databases with accompanying duties in setting up Linux/Unix server environments for digital repository assets. Perform comprehensive and selective server and database development and security services in support for ERDC Library's digital archival project. Performs regular and recurring program checks on the ERDC Library's integrated library system, digital repository and archival databases, and content management systems. Reviews and evaluates on a continuing basis functionality of the ERDC Library's integrated library system, digital repository and archival databases, and content management systems. Evaluate new library database technologies and processes for updating and improving technological functionality of library services. The incumbent advises directors, managers and researchers on ERDC Library's integrated library system, digital repository and archival databases, and content management systems. Searches classified and unclassified online resources to provide electronic resource service. Provides training and instruction in the use of ERDC Library's integrated library system, digital repository and archival databases, and content management systems. Conducts periodic survey of materials added to ERDC Library's integrated library system, digital repository and archival databases, and content management systems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: develop and disseminate information to integrate data visualization (DV) tools, processes and concepts into work package units, software development team, and data analysis teams; facilitate Data Visualization tools, processes, and concepts that can be seamlessly integrated into High Power Computing HPC workflows; provide new strategies in disseminating Data Visualization software and practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, DJ-03 (GS-12) or above.

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project and this pay band includes the General Schedule equivalent to the GS-13/14. To qualify for DJ-04 level, applicants must possess specialized experience equivalent to the DJ-03 or GS-12 grade level.

In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume. If you are a Lab Demo employee submitting your resume for the first time, or if you have previously submitted your resume without your most recent score, you must submit your resume now with the following statement to be included in the section on your training: Current Performance Rating ___.
