Responsibilities

As a Packer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Performs all aspects of standard packing and/or preservation work using numerous procedures, methods, and techniques of the trade.

Packs or repacks (hazardous and/or non-hazardous) a variety of items for shipment and/or preforms standard preservation tasks using a variety of techniques to protect material and equipment from corrosion, deterioration, and damage during storage and shipment.

Uses a variety of packing procedures and techniques for container selection, item placement, wrapping, cushioning, sealing, and marking/labeling.

Ensures all , markings, and addressing requirements are met prior to releasing material for final loading/shipment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an MHE License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a state driver's license.

Physical Effort: (Change the statement as appropriate) Exerts very heavy effort in operating large, riding mowers on grades and in areas with brush, trees, and other visible obstacles that require significant maneuvering and lever control. Some arm and leg movement is required to manipulate equipment controls. Employee frequently lifts and moves equipment and components weighing over 50 pounds (23 kilograms).

Working Conditions: (Change the statement as appropriate) Work is performed outside in all kinds of weather and inside in areas that may be dusty drafty, and noisy. The equipment, tools, and tasks involved frequently require extreme care and use of safety gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, or respirators to avoid severe injury such as fractures, severe cuts and back strain. Subject to hazardous noise. Exerts very heavy physical effort. Frequently lifts and moves equipment and components over 50 pounds.
