Summary

About the Position: Serves as the Aviation Center Logistics Command (ACLC) Logistics Management Specialist at Fort Rucker, AL in support of the Fleet Management Expansion (FMX) maintenance and supply mission.

This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the Wiregrass area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Responsibilities

Provides total logistics support by investigating, coordinating, and recommending solutions to logistics problems and deficiencies affecting supported weapon systems.

Resolves high priority supply readiness problems through immediate coordination with wholesale supply networks such as (National Inventory Control Point (NICP), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), General Services Administration (GSA), etc.).

Conducts trend analysis, reviews historical records, automated supply and maintenance data and identifies resources and actions required towards resolving logistics issues that impact readiness.

Identifies causes and recommends specific action(s) to return and maintain supported systems (GCSS-A, ULLS AE, EDMO, LMMS, LIW, etc.) to the highest degree of materiel readiness in order to meet mission readiness goals.

Reviews and analyzes a variety of Supply Performance Reports and data bases for short and long term supply problems and takes appropriate action to resolve them.

Develops action plans where readiness is degraded due to poor supply performance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working within specialized fields of logistics operations, retail and wholesale supply systems to include maintenance and supply logistics; evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics programs to include supply, inventory, storage, distribution and technical programs; utilizing various logistics accountability systems, such as Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), Army Common Operating (ARCOP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
