Summary

You will serve as a in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) in the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

You will install, configure and troubleshoot each respective system in accordance with supporting technical documentation.

You will monitor the operating systems functions of the organization, and Coalition systems to support the integration to meet mission objectives.

You will provide subject matter expertise and feedback to program managers in support of the evaluating, testing, and development of interoperability procedures to command and control, communication, computer, and intelligence (i.e. C4I) systems.

You will Diagnose and isolate issues with joint intelligence system, user action, and tactical combat interfaces to implement solutions to problems.

You will identify security vulnerabilities to determine if level of protection is adequate and compliant with policies, practices, and procedures.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires rotating shift work.

This position has been designated as IAT Level II. Selectee is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certificate/recertification for this position within 6 months of hired as outlined in DODI 8570.1M

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of Information Technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing user requirements to determine if systems meet business needs.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with program managers to refine functional requirements.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpreting and evaluating performance data.

In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical work in the planning, coordinating, troubleshooting, configuration, installation of Command and Control, Communication, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) Systems (e.g. IOS v1, IOS v2, GCCS, C2PC Gateway, Command Post of the Future (CPOF) Mid Tier Caching Server and CPOF Client Workstations, IOW (Operations and Intel) Client Workstations, GCCS Client Workstation, CIDNE, AFATDS, TLHDS) to provide customer assistance in response to customer requirements.

Education

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector OR have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
