Description The Field Service Technician is responsible for installation, commissioning, and scheduled or emergency service on Small to Medium UPS & Battery system products (2-120KVA) serviced by Vertiv, commensurate with appropriate training certification. The Field Service Technician is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible to support products and services sold to our \u201cEdge\u201d market segment and dispatched through our Coordinated Services\/CRC teams. This position is based out of our San Francisco Service Center. Candidates must live or be willing to relocate themselves within 25 miles of San Francisco to be considered. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ROLE \u00b7Rely on direction from Coordinated Services Dispatch team to accomplish goals \u00b7Perform a number of UPS\/Battery work related tasks \u00b7Capable of working under direct supervision or independently based upon training TECHNICAL \u00b7Render on site and phone assistance to customers. \u00b7Communicate with National Technical Support on equipment issues \u00b7Perform work related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance \u00b7Implement Field Change Notices according to published guidelines \u00b7Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips SAFETY \u00b7Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines \u00b7Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties \u00b7Adhere to work hours policy guidelines \u2013 \u201c14 hours rule\u201d \u00b7Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel. ADMINISTRATION \u00b7Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelines \u00b7Time cards, expense reports, mileage reports, ticket closure, forms et al. \u00b7Maintain individual inventory in accordance with company policy \u00b7Provide estimated time of arrival to the Customer Response Center where applicable \u00b7Maintain company property according to company policies \u00b7Vehicle, credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, et al. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION \u00b7Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers \u00b7Provide estimated time of arrival to the customer for where applicable \u00b7Complete scheduled maintenance documentation properly and provide to the customer and local office upon completion of each designated assignment \u00b7Strive to provide all customers a \u201cfirst time fix\u201d for their equipment \u00b7Maintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelines \u00b7Attend Customer Meetings as required PERFORMANCE \u00b7Maximize productivity by combining service opportunities \u00b7Complete all work in an efficient and timely manner \u00b7Capable of making technical and commercial decisions under pressure \u00b7Properly evaluate site and equipment for appropriate billing status \u00b7Maintain productive utilization rate according to company guidelines \u00b7Perform inventory cycle counts according to company guidelines \u00b7Adhere to company dress code and safety regulations \u00b7Meet or exceed on-site response time requirements for each customer \u00b7Understand and comply with company startup\/escalation processes and procedures \u00b7Maintain proper and adequate level of internal communications \u00b7Managers, co-workers, Support Services, electronic communications, et al.
