Introduction:

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking an Air Force Strategic Systems Analyst.

Job Summary:

Perform analysis of Air Force strategic systems to include ICBMs, strategic bombers, NC3, and related supporting functions.

Duties:

Participate in the development of U.S. Air Force nuclear enterprise assessment metrics and identify data to support analysis. Interface with U.S. Air Force personnel to validate Air Force Command self-assessments against defined requirements and thresholds. (40%)

Identify and analyze common drivers of unsatisfactory performance as well as trends or potential indications of impending problems. (40%)

Oversee the development of software analysis tools to facilitate data collection, analysis, and integration. (10%)

Deliver formal presentations to sponsors. Effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results. Produce documentation to capture concept definitions, requirements, analysis results, and technical recommendations. (10%)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.

At least five years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge or experience with U.S. Air Force weapon systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.

Operational or assessment experience of U.S. Air Force strategic assets including ICBM, strategic bombers, or NC3.

Special Working Conditions:

Periodic local travel and occasional overnight travel. (10%)

Security:

Top Secret Clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information up to the Top Secret level. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
